these fire photos are from the san marcial fire, in the bosque del apache bird refuge near socorro, NM. it burned incredibly hot for one day, may 4, and was pretty much done. 5000 acres. this is my engine and crew.

did some flintknapping after work today. this is a flake from my workpiece, obsidian from glass butte in central oregon.

sat inside a pole barn all day trying to hear instructors babble over the banging of the bay doors in the wind and the occasional squall of rain on the roof. guy on the left is Victor, one of my engine crew.
