wintercount is a gathering by the society of primitive technology. it is a week of workshops, demos, discussions, learning, teaching, and hanging out in dirty buckskins. there is pottery, flintknapping, weaving, tanning, felting; and fashioning of all kinds of things like bows, arrows, atlatls, knives, baskets, pots, musical instruments, clothing, jewelry, food, and just about anything else you can imagine that people might have used in daily life for the last 25 to 25,000 years. it's really, really awesome. and never have i been around such an incredible group of challenging and inspiring people.
